46,000 square foot office renovation in Baltimore, Maryland
Objectives / Challenges:
Design a facility that reflects the significance of the group’s mission and which allows for maximum efficiencies in operations. Create a welcoming, safe environment for both employees and visitors. As a government user, LEED Certification was also required.
Murals of an American flag and the Statue of Liberty greet the public upon arrival and the ceremony room (for naturalization ceremonies) is a focal point from the main lobby. Separate entrances were provided for the public and employees, with visitors entering through a well controlled screening area. Multiple circulation patterns were incorporated to allow for the continuous flow of people throughout the facility. In order to meet LEED Certification, the building was designed with high recycled content materials, low flow plumbing fixtures & energy efficient lighting fixtures.
