A restoration and conversion of three historical brownstone buildings from residential housing to office use in Baltimore, Maryland. The program included historical preservation, interior renovations of bedrooms into offices, and conference rooms

Brown Capital Management, located in the historic district of Mt. Vernon, Baltimore is an interior renovation of three brownstone buildings built in the nineteenth century. HD2 was hired in the late 1990s to relocate Brown Capital Management’s offices, after outgrowing its Maryland Avenue location, to 1201 North Calvert Street. Heath Design Group was then reengaged in 2015 to renovate the existing space as well as provide an expansion into an additional adjacent building on North Calvert Street.

The project involved the relocation of existing shared offices to new executive suites and integrating state-of-the-art technology to new training and conference rooms. These spaces were specifically designed with new technology which allowed the client to conduct their business throughout the world. This transformation of private residences into corporate offices required meticulous detailing to preserve and restore the historical elements of the building and allowed Brown Capital Management to create a new corporate identity within the new space.
